Regardless of how much money we raise, True Patriot will be made.
We've been pushing the pre-order angle from day one because we've always intended to publish this book. We want to pre-sell as much of our first (and hopefully not last) print run that we're readying for Canada Day.
Indiegogo's flexible funding option allows us to keep whatever money we do make, which helps us lower our out-of-pocket costs. As it says on our main campaign page:
"We're hoping to raise $20,000 to pay for the cost of printing and shipping the books and perks, cover Indiegogo/PayPal/bank fees, as well as pay the creators a small honorarium."
In that order!
If we manage to raise more money, it could go towards rewarding our creators more or it may have to go towards a larger print run, which will depend on the demand (i.e. the pre-orders).
