True Patriot will be a 100-page, full colour, hardcover. Our stories range between 6-10 pages. All stories feature Canadian superheroes, but the interpretations of what "Canadian superhero" is varies from creator to creator. And that's the really fun part for me, seeing my friends' different takes on "Canadian superhero."
Some went with traditional masks and capes. Others borrow from Canadian mythology. Some stories are set in the present, while others take place in another time. We've got action, adventure, family drama, monster battles, and of course what would a Canadian comic book be without humour?
The art in True Patriot is also something special. Like Canada itself, it's an eclectic mosaic of different looks, styles, and influences. We've got Big Two mainstream artists, cartoonists who give us indy cred, and illustrators drawing from the greats like Kirby, Toth, Wieringo, and more.
Through our Indiegogo campaign in October, we'll be offering a pre-order of the hardcover as well as a PDF version for the digitally inclined. We've also got some fun "experience" perks that give you a chance to interact with our creators. Please keep an eye on this page for more details and links.
