Montreal Comicon

I grew up in Montreal, discovered comic stores in Montreal, attended my first comic creator signing (Chris Claremont and Paul Smith at Capitaine Quebec!), worked comic book retail in the West Island (Infinity Comix in Pointe Claire!), and started my bid to work in comics while living there, but I moved to Toronto before I really broke into the industry.

Over the years, as a professional working the comic convention circuit, I always wanted to attend a con in my "hometown" but for a time there no one was doing cons in Montreal and if they were, they weren't inviting me :)

That was then, this is now! The Montreal Comicon takes place this weekend Saturday, September 6th and Sunday, September 7th at Place Bonaventure. Among the creators on the guest list are Howard Chaykin, Dale Eaglesham, Cary Nord, Herb Trimpe, Tom Fowler, and yours truly.
