LOIS & CLARK
Legion of Super-Heroes in the 31st Century #13 is out this week, so how about a three-stage look at the nifty cover by Alex Serra...

Writer's Commentary:
This is probably my favorite of my LOSH31 stories to date. But truth be told, it's not much of a "Legion" story - it's more of a "Lois & Clark" story. We also introduce Perry White and Lex Luthor in this issue.

As the title "Back in Metropolis" suggests, the plot focuses on Clark Kent back in the present working at the Daily Planet, trying to prove himself as a writer, and competing for scoops with Lois. However, we do get to see the Legionnaires (including the rarely seen Sun Boy and Element Lad) in flashbacks (flashforwards?) to get a sense of what Clark learned from them while he was in the 31st century.

Alex Serra turns in some of his best artwork for the series to date. And he draws the cutest Lois Lane ever. You have to pick the issue up for that reason alone!

J, I was wondering if you're going to pick up from where the series left off in a future issue. Do you have plans for Brainiac 6 or the new and improved Brainiac 5? Just curious.

Actually, we're working out some of that stuff right now! We anticipated a third season of the show, and were going to follow along in terms of certain plots (albeit a bit late - we're just catching up to season two now in terms of what's on the stands), but since the show is done we're trying to figure what parts to "keep" (for lack of a better term). One challenge is making some already written Brainiac 5 stuff jive with what happens at the end of the TV series. Please stay tuned for more info here! Suffice it to say (for now) that we love Brainy and he'll be back :)

Hey JT,
Hate to go off subject here, but I was wondering if you had any sugjetions for a comic book writer to be.
My friend has found a publisher, but would like to know the ins and outs of writing a comic.
Any help you could give would be very...helpful. Thank.

just picked this up today! really great work! i really love the superman-movie reference (and the smallville reference?). this is a really nice superman story. i've noticed that a lot of these stories don't seem very "just for kids"ish at all (I'm definitely not a kid), and i think if it wasn't a series derived from a cartoon universe, people would really give it the respect it deserves. To me, nothing about this makes it a johnny dc-ish title, and you're telling exactly the sorts of stories i'd want to see in the "adult" LOSH comics! i think what's the strongest here and that i find lacking in a lot of "adult" intended comics is that this isn't really an "action" story, it's more about the characters and their day-to-day interactions. action is good some of the time, but the things i like best are seeing that lois can't spell, and that she drives recklessly, seeing clark trying to puzzle out how to use his freezy breath, and watching brainiac5 and supermans doomed-to-be-complicated relationship. it's that character stuff that makes the fights/conflict whatever heartwrenching! (something i think the cartoon hit on the head with a season of their cute friendship ending with it rocked by Scary-Brainy)

ok! sorry, a lot of words to say "I LOVE THIS BOOK, KEEP WRITING IT, ACTUALLY COULD YOU WRITE THE OTHER LSH SERIES TOO?! PLEASE?"

This was the best Superman book on the stands this week! Great job!
Just curious if you know if Alex Serra has a website or blog too.
Keep up the great work!
